Guys and Dolls- Sergeant Sarah Brown, of the Save a Soul Mission, is vainly trying to spread the Word, and make a difference to the sin and depravity of the streets of Broadway. Adelaide, the showgirl, is desperate to leave behind her seemingly glamorous lifestyle for a white picket fence and a ring on her finger. Nathan Detroit, is trying to find yet another new location for his floating dice game, keeping just one short step ahead of the law. The gamblers themselves, eager for just one more roll, for that winning streak. And the coolest, highest roller of them all, Sky Masterson, who would bet on anything that would turn him a profit. One of America’s best loved musicals featuring the hit songs “I’ve Never Been in Love Before,” “A Bushel and a Peck,” and “If I Were a Bell.”

A Midsummer
Night's Dream

Dubuque City Youth Ballet 40th Year Celebration!

Original Ballet choreographed by Marina O'Rourke
Music: Felix Mendelssohn
- Titania and Oberon, Queen and King of the Enchanted Forrest, are quarreling over the possession of a precious object. Oberon charges his favorite Fairy, Puck, “Spirit of Mischief,” to dot Titania’s eyes while she sleeps with the magic purple flower “Love in Idleness” so when she wakens, she will love the first she sees, which will be Oberon. Hermia and Lysander enter the forest, deeply in love. Demetrius enters, pursuing the affection of Hermia. Helena enters in despair, for she loves Demetrius even though he has eyes only for Hermia. Oberon observes the turmoil of Helena, and orders Puck to affect the eyes of Demetrius, so he will love Helena and set these lovers right. However, Puck makes mischief, and all goes awry! Titania opens her eyes to Bottom, a rustic village actor who has stumbled into the forest with a donkey’s head stuck on his. Puck has mistaken Lysander for Demetrius, and Lysander opens his eyes to adore Helena - forsaking Hermia. The men fight - the women fight, and Titania adores the donkey! Oberon orders a deep fog to cover the forest as he un-muddles the mischief of Puck. When the fog lifts, all is set right. The lovers are united and all is well.

Rent - The Grand’s first annual regional high school production!

Rent follows a year in the lives of seven friends living the disappearing Bohemian lifestyle in New York's East Village. AIDS and both its physical and emotional complications pervade the lives of Roger, Mimi, Tom, and Angel; Maureen deals with her chronic infidelity through performance art; her partner, Joanne, wonders if their relationship is worth the trouble; Benjamin has sold out his Bohemian ideals in exchange for a hefty income and is on the outs with his former friends; and Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, feels like an outsider to life in general, always behind the camera recording the events but never playing a part.

Annual Summer Youth Production
Rugrats the Musical-
Welcome to the world of the RUGRATS! The RUGRATS are Tommy, our one-year-old hero, and his friends, Chuckie, Phil & Lil and his cousin Angelica. The RUGRATS, in their usual offbeat fashion, turn a typical rainy afternoon into an adventure of the imagination. When Chuckie laments that the world is becoming too scary, Tommy decides to do something about it and creates the People-ator, a tool which makes inanimate objects come alive. Tommy’s plan quickly backfires when Angelica takes his invention. As the RUGRATS travel over oceans and battle Reptar to keep Angelica from using the People-ator for her own purposes, Chuckie realizes that the world no longer seems as scary – not because Tommy changed the world, but because Chuckie has found that he can survive scary things through his own courage and the help of his 'bestest' friends.
