Jack
Luke - Musical Director
Oliver!
marks Jack1s 13th production at the Grand since returning
to Dubuque from the U.S. Army Germany in 1995. Previous Grand
shows include last summer1s Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Fiddler,
and Joseph. Dr. Luke received his musical training at the
University of Iowa and Northwestern University. He has served
as Music Director of the Before Broadway Players in suburban
Chicago and of the Dubuque Youth Symphony Orchestra. He has
performed as baritone soloist on Iowa Public TV, as recitalist
at Stage 13, Nurnberg, Germany, and has recording credits
with Motown Records, Cherrywood Studios, the University of
Iowa and Penn State University. He is former principal clarinetist
with the Chamber Orchestra of Lake Forest, the Northshore
Concert Band of Wilmette and the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra.
He is presently Senior Choir Director at St. Paul Lutheran
Church in Dubuque. Dr. Luke is the Medical Director of Construction
Operations for John Deere Dubuque and Davenport Works. Oliver!
is the first show ever in which all six Lukes will take part
with daughter on stage, spouse and sons in the Pit!

Diana
Luke - Assistant Musical Director/Accompanist
A
graduate of the University of Iowa with a Masters in organ performance,
Diana teaches vocal music at Hempstead High School and elementary
music at Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Washington Junior High. In
addition, she teaches piano at the University of Dubuque and
is the organist and children's choral director at St. Paul Lutheran
Church. She has performed and taught throughout the Midwest,
South Carolina, and Europe. She has been the accompanist for
eight previous Grand productions. Diana is a member of PEO,
the AGO, the American Suzuki Association, and the NEA. When
she isn't performing or going from learning institution to learning
institution to teach, Diana assists with the music education
of her four children. She is happy to participate in this show
with her sons Wesley, Jason, and Jesse Luke in the pit orchestra,
her daughter Ginny on stage, and husband Jack, the music director.
