The Grand will offer a number of $1,500 internships this summer through a grant from BP and the Mulgrew Oil Company. Request information and application by contacting Paul Hemmer

Annie will be produced as a community musical directed by John Lease June 15-16-17; 21-22-23-24, 2012. Music Director is Nancy Lease. Choreography by David Manion. Auditions will be held March 3 & 4 from 1pm to 4pm and March 5 from 7pm to 9pm in the lower level of the Masonic Temple at 1155 Locust, Dubuque. Use the doors on the 11th Street side. A large cast of singers, dancers and actors will be needed for this great American musical. And, of course we'll need a well trained large dog to play the role of Sandy.

ANNIE is a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Persons auditioning should be prepared to sing AND sell a song by memory. A song from the show is preferred although any Broadway type song is acceptable.

Dance or gymnastic ability for children is desireable.

 

 

 

Sweeney Todd will be produced as our annual all-star high-school/college production July 27-28-29; August 2-3-4-5, 2012. Joe Klinebriel will director. Robert Demaree is Music Director. Choreography by Marina O'Rourke and Megan MacLeod. Casting is open to current high school and college students from throughout the tri-state area. Auditions will be held at the Grand Saturday April 14 from 1-4pm, Sunday April 15 from 1-4pm and Monday April 16 from 7-9pm. Detailed information will be sent to area schools and available on the website after March 15.
