The Grand Opera House Announces Auditions for
KGOH the voice of the Grand presents: Christmas Treasures, a radio play directed and adapted for the stage by Doug Donald. Performances are on November 27th and 28th at 7:30pm and November 29th at 2:00pm.
Set in a 1940s radio studio actors and sound effects artists come together to bring to life three classic Christmas stories, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, A Child’s Christmas in Wales, and A Christmas Carol. The cast will be comprised of 6-8 actors and 2 sound effects artists. A keyboard player will provide live musical accompaniment and underscoring. All actors must be versatile with the ability to voice multiple characters. In keeping with the style of a radio play the actors will hold scripts which will also allow for a condensed rehearsal schedule. The show will be staged in a manor that in rehearsals and performances the cast will be able to maintain social distancing.
Director: Doug Donald

Actors will be asked to read individually from a side provided and sing a traditional Christmas Carol a cappella. The show will call for the following types of voices: cartoon voices including all types of accents - except British or Irish - for RUDOLPH. CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES will be normal voices, no accents, both child (voiced by adults) and adult; and British, Irish, Scots, or Welsh accents for CHRISTMAS CAROL.
